Optimist: someone who isn't sure whether life is a tragedy or a comedy but is tickled silly just to be in the play.
Optimist: someone who believes that after the fat lady sings, the dead lovers do an encore duet.
Optimist: someone who notices a tall hooded figure with a scythe trailing him and thinks, "Boy, I'm sure glad I'm not a stalk of wheat."
Optimist: someone who thinks there's even hope for pessimism.
Optimist: someone who believes that even a second chance gets a second chance.
Optimist: someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it's a cha-cha.

Boy, needed quotes in these tough times. I can relate to the last one very well thank you.
My husband and I rolled on the dark hooded figure one! That's a classic! I also loved the cha-cha one. After he finished laughing my hubby said, "Aaah. Loves Ron Paul AND has a fertile mind."

It's the best type of post for a Monday morning. They are all good.
Marlene, I hope that means you're a dancer, not that you've taken a step backward.
Randi, not so much a fertile mind as a fertilized mind. Boy, I'm going a long way on Ron Paul's shoulders.
Randi, ditto.
Ken, feels good being an optimist, although I don't promise to take it up permanently.

Optimist: Someone who has yet to watch today's news.
rb,
I loved them all! I myself have trouble with optimism. I tend more towards realism/cynicism, though I'm trying to overcome this!! Thanks for the smiles!

Liz, great definition! Quote Garden, take notice.
Me, I call myself a realist, yet I carry in my wallet a snapshot of my daughter in angel wings
and my dog in a hair ribbon.

Loved the last one, Robert.
You have a lot of interesting quotes on the blog and I had to follow you...the blog, that is :)
Sarah,
To discover a new follower over morning coffee is about all I ask of a day. Thanks and welcome (and my regards to all the paranormalists in Karachi.)

: I just sent this to a friend of mine who has a blog called www.Shrinkingthecamel. He's a young business executive, blogging about relating his faith to his business life. Quite bright & enjoyable. You might enjoy his take on some stuff, and he has some interesting commenters. Check him out.
"If you really need wise quotes, I recommend A Robert Brault Reader. He verbalizes “what oft was thought but ne’er so well expressed.” He is as wise as I wish I were.
I enjoy your writing and your readers, even when I don’t know or care what the heck you’re talking about. I’m not a tweeter, unashamedly. I’m still trying to adjust to the shift from “four in the floor” to automatic transmission, f’ goshsakes!
Other than that and re. the "Tweeting" post, when I don't have anything to say, I think I’ll say nothing."

I've shared the last quote with my friends and they all loved it! I'm a follower too and just stopped by to say thank you!
Best,
Ekin
Ekin,
I appreciate your comment. I'll count you as another fan of optimism.
