I'd guess that you offer your kids what's needed the most -- comfort or advice -- calling on a pretty sure instinct in the matter. But that's just a guess.

Thanks, the truth is that nearly every thought is selected from many options (as Liz demonstrates above.) It's when I can't decide on the best that I throw it open to readers. I've just spent a most enjoyable morning reading your blog archives with my coffee. I was so disappointed to come to the end of your blog, even though I had finished the coffee long before. However, I'm really looking forward to going through it again. And incidentally, I'm vastly impressed with the variety and quantity of your Thoughts. It's so hard to come up with just one, and you have hundreds.
