Hi Robert, missed reading your blog. Todays quotes are quite thought provoking. It is hot here 105 today. The only thing I can think of is: If your body temperature is 98.6, why does 93 feel so hot?
How is it possible that all of these are my favorites? I could make a full-blown post out of each of these thoughts; they are all so meaty. As always, I am in awe of your ability to put life under the microscope and summarize it in one sentence. I've tried. Just can't do it. You're the king.
I loved Marlene's thought too! Yeah, why does 93 feel so hot?
Regarding followers: I thought you meant why were they gone from other people's blogs, hence my explanation about the bug. The other bug is driving me crazy too---I used to be a follower on your site. When Google Friends took over, it deleted me as a follower ( on all sites that I followed,) and every time I try to sign back up it tells me "The site owner has blocked you from being a follower on this site." I'm quite confident that you didn't really block me. Did you? Robert? Robert? So I'm a follower-at-large.
Marlene,
Well, see, your body is a heat-releasing mechanism, accustomed to cooling off at 70 or lower and kind of trapped in its own heat at 93. Or else there's another explanation, not necessarily similar.
Randi,
Thank you so much. I am a little less in awe of the ability than you might think. To quote myself, "There is no greater curse than a small talent" -- and I have the life story to prove it.
As to followers, yes, they did disappear from everyone else's blogs, too. Now they're all back. But I was away from home, using my wife's laptop, so it must've had something to do with a locally-stored cookie. I'm mystified by your long-standing problem and can only assure you that I have not intentionally blocked you, or anyone, but most of all you. Never.

I found your site on a friend's Facebook account and am so pleased that I did. Your outlook on life is very thought provoking and I thoroughly enjoy it. Thank you!
Long live the King!
Karla, thanks and welcome!
Ken, the King of Pop is gone, but the King of Poop goes on.

I'm still laughing about the King of Poop. With 5 grandkiddoes, I thought I was the Queen of Poop, anyhow! ha! And it's 105 here too. Sigh.
Wow, I love your random thoughts here! Right now, my only thought is CAFFEINE! :)
Thank you for the smile quotes!
*I'm Smiling back*
And since Marlene is writing about weather...
here in upstate, NY ... it's raining cats and dogs... forecasting 5" tonight!
still smilin'

Jan,
I guess I'm lucky. My grandkids never pooped when we were looking after them -- or else my wife took care of it. Not sure which.
Aly Beth, your only thought is CAFFEINE? When I have an only thought, it's HELP!
Maria,
Central Connecticut escaped the bath last night. We've only had 16 inches or rain in June-July, so we could have used it. But still smilin'.

Hi, I recently saw your quotes on quotegarden and decided to follow your link. I really do like your quotes!! I actually used one of your qoutes in a layout I used. I also gave you credit for it too. I tried posting it but I cant post html.
Anay Adorno,
Thanks for your interest. The blog will be a little quiet for the next two weeks, but I hope to pick up the pace by mid-August.

rb,
I like the one about 'feeling a little less anonymous'. I like to think that we're put here on this earth to make things easier for each other. Even if all we do is share a smile.

All in brackets that means they're not mine!!!!
Liz, welcome back from Utah. I surmise from your "post to self" on Empty Nest that you're feeling a bit anonymous yourself these days. Let me say again that your blog is filled with wonderfully entertaining stuff, waiting to be enjoyed by all who read you. Worst case, your gravesite might be chosen for the Unknown Blogger
memorial. (Okay, not funny.)
smiles,
rb
Anonymity is a funny thing....sometimes craved and sometimes cursed. I love it when I find that certain people have been reading my blog, and I cringe when I find that others have been reading it!
(I'd prefer the title "The Invisible Blogger" on my tombstone, please!)
Oh, dear me.
Okay, sorry for hassling you. You are a good person. Anyway, someone once said that you haven't really achieved fame until you are quoted as "Anon."
Liz,
It takes years of dedicated effort to achieve widespread invisibility. I used to put it this way, "Thanks to my appearances in Reader's Digest, my name is unrecognized throughout the USA, and through the Digest international editions, I have become totally unknown in 127 different countries."
smiles,
