Taking a break from gardening to enter this wonderful garden of quotes :o)
I just LOVE the pet quotes...
"The difference between friends and pets is that friends we allow into our company, pets we allow into our solitude."
...will be another FAVORITE!
Your charisma quote is also great... When I discuss listening skills with my students, I tell them that charming people listen intently and make you feel as though you're the only one in the room!
Have a wonderful break! ~Maria
I love the quote about becoming a grandparent. It is so true. Well worth the consequences!
Maria,
Your observation that "charming people listen intently" fills my head with new thoughts:
"You don't have to go to charm school to learn how to listen intently."
"You know when you're talking to a charmer because he makes you feel charming."
etc.
Liz,
I guess I chose a roundabout way to say that becoming a grandparent is a reward.

Another batch of good quotes, but..."Sometimes we regret more than any words spoken, a silence not broken", is a powerful reminder of a few instances that come to mind. I just have to quote you.
Thanks Robert and have a good break. The sooner you get back, the sooner I can go!
Ken,
You mean you won't be posting from France? Don't tell me that. I expect a day-by-day account of "The Adventures of an English Artist in Brittany." Please don't disappoint.

Ah, yes---a silence not broken. One of those sins of omission that we regret the most. Why didn't I say "I'm sorry?" Why didn't I offer to help? Why didn't I just say "I love you?" If only I had just said "Thank you."
A truly charismatic person gives his children his full attention too.
Robert, as always your wisdom is unmatchable except by maybe the Dalai Lama.
Randi,
Thanks -- but see what you've done. You've inspired me to come back early.
smiles,
rb
Mission accomplished. :)
