rb,
These are all great!!
I love the one about bittersweet memories/plans.....perhaps because I am about to make what could be my last trip to see my father. He is 84 and struggling with Parkinson's. He lives several states away so the time we spend together is scarce, but treasured.
I also love the one about conquering time. If I think I have to do something long term it's hard, but if I take it just a minute at a time, it seems more doable.
Thanks, as always, for giving me something to think about and something to smile about!

All great pearls of wisdom, thank you.
As always, much food for thought. My tear ducts and my memories of my children (and now grandchildren) are directly linked. Love how you put things.
I love number three. I have a few acquaintances who are always convinced that other people are just "lucky." It's difficult to convince them that the "luck" of others is usually just plain hard work.
I so agree about memories being stored directly in the tear ducts. Certain triggers (a song, a photo, a phrase, etc.) never fail to open the floodgates.
Beautiful last ponderous thought...
Liz,
Wasn't sure anyone would "get" my reference to "bittersweet plans", but I had in mind just the sort of thing you mention -- that and going to familiar places without friends and family who have passed on. Thanks.

"Pearls of wisdom" and "food for thought" describes what I (and my mental elves) try to produce in this little workshop. Thanks for appreciating.
Randi,
Thank you. I worked and reworked the last ponderous thought -- not sure I have it the way I want it. But I like the idea of God as Time. While we search for Him in Space, He envelops us in Time. There's an insight there somewhere.
smiles all,

"You are most welcome to quote any item that strikes your fancy."
Man, you're killin' me here, too much good material to choose from... soon I'm going to have to rename The Quote Garden to The Robert Brault Garden (With Some Other Quotes Too)!
Thanks, once again and as always, for your beautiful words!
Terri,
I have the advantage over most of your contributors in that I'm still alive. (Although, I should warn you, an aphorist keeps generating wise sayings for about six months after death, in the way, for most people, the fingernails keep growing.)
smiles,

Robert,
