I finished my lesson on your quote, Robert, and posted about it here on my blog! I hope you enjoy seeing what became of your quote after middle school students completed the sentence:
"You do not wake up one morning a bad person. It happens by a thousand tiny surrenders of _______ to ________."
It was very rewarding... thank you so much!

Maria,
I'm absolutely thrilled by what you did with the quote and encourage everyone to take a look at it. It's heartening beyond words to see a teacher make such an innovative and caring extra effort on behalf of her kids. You're pretty special -- and you've made me pretty proud of myself to boot.

e.sucessfully photograph a Wood Thrush!
I have come over from Maria's Calm Energy...to view your quotes for myself...
Wanda,
Welcome aboard! Nice answer -- when it comes to persistence, bird watchers are in a class by themselves.

Hi Robert!
I'm so glad you like how the quote activity turned out!
It was great to see the students' faces when they reached an understanding of the quote. The display is staying up all year...
I'm looking forward to using more of your quotes for character building activities (with your permission).
I found this so rewarding... it's nurturing the soul and inspiring wisdom. The world needs more of this~
Again, thank you so much~
All the best to you! and Three Cheers :)

Maria,
You have my blanket permission to use (and improve) my thoughts in any way you wish. I am completely trusting in your judgment. Thanks.

I honestly feel I'm in the presence of greatness. This condensed wisdom would give me cause to pause and ponder for days! How do you come up with such stuff? p.s. Here's a site developed by some poets. Thought you might enjoy. Lots of times I find thinkers just uttering things which pass right over my head. Other times I get it. The site is http://www.tweetspeakpoetry.com/blog/2009/
Anon,
Thanks. I've been trying to convince my wife that she's in the presence of greatness, but it's been a tough sell.
I'll check out the site.
