Hey Robert ~ I just became a fan and quoted you (with a link) today in my Spirit Art Blog!
Sandy,
Thanks, and welcome. Your several sites are a treasure of inspirational words and artistry, and I encourage my readers to check them out. A real treat awaits!

"In assembling the universal jigsaw puzzle, man has yet to find a side piece." Probably never will, yet many of us keep looking!
One of my favorites thus far.

Oh, how I love the thought about your mother knowing exactly who you are and ever so gently trying to let you know too. I know mine has been trying to tell me for years -- and I have been doing the same for one of my sons. Love it!
HI Robert!
These are ALL such GREAT quotes ~
Last night, there was an amazing halo or ring around the moon. It was so wide... and so bright.
Chris explained that it was actually caused by the bright moonlight reflecting on the ice crystals in the cirrus clouds.
It was quite a sight!
"In assembling the universal jigsaw puzzle, man has yet to find a side piece."
. . . so very, very true~
Thanksgiving Blessings, Maria
Robert, I got a chuckle out of the last one as we had Italian tonight - It just took us a while to get rid of the leftovers. You are right it was very enjoyable indeed.
Tim,
Hi - a relative of Don, I presume. Yes, infinity and eternity are the essential mysteries, and they are what give us hope for immortality.
Jan,
When my mom died 14 years ago, I was one of the few people she still recognized. She would give me a funny look, as if there were something she hadn't finished telling me.
Maria,
Yes, a ring around the moon often means "It's going to rain", and it did rain around here yesterday. Sorry I missed the moon show.
Marlene,
We sneaked in an Italian meal before we finished the leftovers. I just couldn't wait.

The Spirit fills you right up to overflowing wisdom, I can see :)
Wonderful words shared. I've often come by your quotes in other places, never realizing that you are right here in the blog world as well.
Blessed to have found you.
May I use your quotes as inspiration to accompany my photos every now and then, at Simply Joyful Photos?
Simply,
Welcome. Glad you like. I'd be most pleased to see a quote of mine caption a photo of yours, and I will trust your judgment as to what is inspriational.

Hi Robert
"Eventually you realize that your mother knows exactly who you are and has been trying to break it to you gently all your life."
What a quote! I love the politician one too! How you manage to encapsulate truth with a few priceless words is a gift every bit as inspirational as the greatest of artists. I hope you burn as brightly for many years to come.
Robert, I do declare you are one of the most enjoyable thinkers I've encountered. You're right. Tim (above) is my son. I told him about you and knew he'd appreciate your approach. He thinks. I'm very proud of him. Glad you're back. This is really "good stuff!" donkimrey.
P.S. On my blog I've been contemplating the meaning of a familiar phrase in one of the Christmas stories, i.e. "the glory of the Lord shone round about them..." What is "glory?" I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Ken,
My "gift", such as it is, might be equated to an ability to play the piano "by ear" or sketch somebody's likeness in five minutes. It falls well short of your own artistry. But I should be able to "burn brightly" for a while, because I'm clearly burning the candle at only one end.
Anon,
I was thinking just the other day that this blog could use another Kimrey. Welcome, both. What is glory? You ask easy questions. I'll respond when I have an easy answer.

"The first thing a child learns in school is to stop asking questions that can't be answered." The sad truth. Home-school, I say!
"You should explain your reasons to a child as if the child had to explain them to God." Wow. Because children are our ultimate witnesses.
"In assembling the universal jigsaw puzzle, man has yet to find a side piece." God chuckles because he is holding all the side pieces for those who think to ask him.
"No matter what the political system, its end is always its own preservation, and its means is always you." You are indeed my husband's twin.
"No one who has to use a football analogy to explain life will ever get to first base in life." I laughed at this one but felt it deserved a longer comment than simply LOL.
"To err is human, to forgive does not get you the settlement that we at Suskind, Marberry and Callahan feel you're entitled to." I laugh all the time at the commercials of our local wrongful injury lawyers. They almost seem gleeful as they tell you that you don't have to suffer. Make someone else pay! Then they have the smiling testimonials. "I got $50,000!" "I got $100,000!"
Had spaghetti Saturday. I'm glad you're back and am happy to see an ever increasing pool of followers to this site.
Randi,
As a friend of this blog, you are a perfect joy. Every writer dreams of having an understanding critic who sniffs out his every intent and makes sense of it all. Faulkner was a forgotten writer in 1947 when Malcolm Cowley wrote The Portable Faulkner, revealing to the world, and to Faulkner himself, the ongoing saga of Yoknapatawpha County. If you have your way, you will make this quotesmith a social commentator yet.
thanks,
rb
I love to get my way. :)
I think that was one of the nicest compliments I have ever received.
Robert,
I found your site through Quote Garden.. I am so glad that I did! I am going through a very difficult time right now, currently losing my Grandmother to lung cancer. We have always been very close. Lately, I find myself looking for inspiration from others words.. I hope to be a writer someday, I have so much inside me that is yearning to get out! This site brought comfort to me tonight. Thank you for creating it. I believe I am not the only one to find joy and laughter and honesty in your words...
I will most certainly be back :)
Jessica
Jessica,
Welcome. I'm greatly pleased to have said something that brings you comfort in your current need. I urge you to indulge your yearning to write. This may be the time to put into words your feelings about your grandmother.
