Robert, These are all so true, you must have been peeking in my windows. I feel better now about my clutter.
So funny, yup, unkemp household, where do those missing socks go when you wash...that what I wanna know, do they REALLY run away to a sock circus? Who knows. Sheila
Chuckling at your post today, Robert!
It's even funnier to think that these quotes are universal settings and happenings in our homes. The one about the younger child 'knowing' is so very true in my family!
My offering for the multiple choice:
(e) where I could throw it all away except for the address book, scotch tape, glue and scissors... and not miss a thing!
Hope you have wonderful vacation memories!

ps. I have another classroom display almost finished using your quote: "If animals could talk, the world would lose its best listeners."
The book "Because of Winn Dixie" was also an inspiration. The kids have been bringing in photos of their pets (dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, horses)
They're so excited to see their beloved pets on display. I won't be able to post about this one; many of the photos have the children in them as well...but just had to let you know how they've enjoyed this!
Every single one rings true with me. The missing scrabble piece was the most recent and we supposed exactly the same thing. Made me smile.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday Robert. Good to have you back.
Marlene,
Thanks, at least you keep your windows clean anough to peek in.
Personal Blender,
Welcome. I've heard of socks disappearing in the wash, which is why I never wash my socks
Maria,
Playing a small part in your classroom projects is the most satisfying result I've had from this blog. Can't tell you how much I appreciate the attention you give to my stuff. Joan and I had a wonderful vacation. It's quite possible to return to youthful haunts, I've found, if you don't mind being the ghosts.
Ken,
As with many subjects, I only scratched the surface (which explains, I guess, why all the surfaces in my house are scratched.) It's good to be back.
smiles all,
rb
I found your quote, about enjoying the little things in life, in The Country House catalog and couldn't stop looking at it. I love the "simple things" and this quote is so appropriate for a situation in our family right now. So so appropriate for everyone all the time...and that is why you wrote it! Love all your writings and glad, if you don't mind, I will quote you on my blog. Thank you for your words and your humor. This is what we all need. ...April
april,
Thanks so much. I took a peek at your site, April's Shoppe, and was dazzled! What a talented artist you are -- and what an uplift to the spirit to immerse onesself in the colorful images you've created. I urge everyone to click on "april", above, and take a look.
