Hi Robert
There is so much truth in these quotes that it's...it's amazing! I mean, I'm genuinely amazed. I love 'em!
I sometimes think you will never be able to continue with such perfectly phrased observations, and each and every time I'm pleasantly proved wrong. You are a phenomenon (hope I've spelt that right as I don't often get to use it).
"You don't realize how little accuracy there is in network TV reporting until they cover a story in your hometown."
Nothing was ever more true. I enjoy reading your blog thank you for giving me smiles. I wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas.
Ken,
All I can say is, "Aw, shucks" and wish you and your family a jolly Christmas and a fun New Year's. See you in 2010!
Marlene,
Thanks so much, and likewise a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

What? Not even an attempt at defining "glory?" What a big help you are!!
On your blogs, I can condense my opinion thusly: Nice. Concise. Precisee. and Wise (It will work if you pronounce it Weiss, as in Bubba and Sam.)
Best to both Braults during the holiday season and for a long time thereafter! ~donkimrey
Don,
As the saying goes, "An author is entitled to his subject." There are several dictionary sites, including Wikipedia, that will define glory for you. What they won't do is wish you a Merry Christmas, which I hereby do.

Oh, all right---
glory: n, the realization of one's essential being, as in the blossoming of a rose, the flight of an eagle, the artistic and intellectual expression of the human soul. God's glory resides in His transcendence of the natural laws He created, as in the appearance of an angel to shepherds.
may i quote that on my blog?
don
The definition of glory is spot-on and lovely on top of that. Thank you! Made me happy today.
Merry Christmas to you - -you add so much to so many lives and I am one of those and am grateful.
Don the Anon,
Of course.
Jan,
Thank you. Your comments here are a constant encouragement, and I appreciate them. Merry Christmas to you and the grandkids.

Hi Robert!
Each one of these is 'the best one.'
Oh, ok... here's a favorite :)
"One suspects that man will still be pondering God as First Cause on the day He appears as Last Effect."
and
I love your definition of 'glory'
...
And may we keep our eyes and hearts wide open to see the Glory of the Lord shining all around us...
each and every day~
Merry Christmas Robert and Joan!
~Christmas Joy to All~
Thanks for posting your quotables Robert. They make my face smile and my mind dance.
A Merry Christmas to you and yours, Maria, and thank you for your many friendly visits here.
Drew, thank you. My thoughts make my mind dance also, albeit it's a very slow waltz these days. Happy Holidays.

Mr. Brault - I've just stumbled across your blog. I am moved and humbled by your wisdom. Thank you for so generously sharing it.
Thank you for your thoughtful comments and sweet poem, Robert. The poem is so meaningful to me. The most distinct memories I have of my mother's voice is her singing and also when she would call my name to wake me.
"...And leads me to the morning light."
I added the poem to the actual post tonight...and will print it for my family album.
I am honored to include your words~
~ What a blessing ~
patriciapaddey,
Thanks for kind words. Visited your site and love it. I have no doubt that the folks who visit here will love it, too, and I urge everyone to take a look.
Maria,
You posted a lovely tribute to your mom, and I was happy to have something to contribute. It appears that you awakened chords of memory in many of your readers, as their appreciations are touching, to say the least.

Thanks, April, but if I were April, I'd be looking forward to May.

Just find your blog as you prepare to go on a hiatus! Thank you for your writing and I will read you when you return. A blessed and peaceful season to you and yours!
Cinda,
The joy of the season to you and Linea, and my heartfelt good wishes as you campaign for the understanding and control of mental illness. I was quite taken with your site.

I don't know if you'll get around to reading my thoughts here at the bottom of the page, but I wanted to thank you for sharing so much of your time and wisdom with me. I've visited you often, and occasionally I'd leave a comment. I've been a 'sideline' observer!(smile) However, I feel I must tell you now, I've enjoyed your blog...your little 'gems' of wisdom...and all the interaction between you and your followers.
Perhaps, I'll still be here when you return, and if not, know you've given me many a smile when I needed one the most.(smile) Enjoy your hiatus!
Many blessings,
Mattie
Mattie, I thank you for the many kind thoughts you have sent my way. I've drawn from you insights that have become so much a part of my outlook that I now take them for my own. Please keep up the struggle and press on. Spring will come; life will reassert its bond. And may I commend to you your own wonderful words (that I have come to know almost by heart):
"... every now and then,
when this world sits just right,
a gentle breath of heaven
fills my soul with delight,
and I see ~
the turning of a leaf
dancing in an autumn sun,
and brilliant shades of crimson
glowing when a day is done,
and I sigh ~
when a rose stands alone,
thriving where no others thrive,
a rare bouquet of one
still strong, still alive,
and I know ~
even in shadows
heaven catches, unaware,
those blinded by visions
of hatred and despair,
and I see ~
a promise of tomorrow
in that wind around the bend,
as it carries a dream of hope
with no hate or pain to tend,
and I pray ~
when every now and then,
this world sits just right,
as a gentle breath of heaven
fills my soul with delight,
and I smile..."
~ Mattie Elliott
And I, too, smile,

that's right my friend, we don't know when is late when we see and reflect ourselves in others, like looking in the mirror our things wrong or right we do.
