A few leftover thoughts on pets
"Sometimes we forget to say goodbye to the only creature who will miss us."
"Although without sin, what animal ever cast the first stone?"
"There is in all animals a sense of duty that man condescends to call instinct."
Miscellaneous, old and new
"There is a limit to how much you can change to be liked for who you really are."
"The only certain mercy in life is that someday the undertaker will do your hair in such a way that you'll be glad you're dead."
"The thing about people is how they're exactly the same in so many different ways."
"We tend to reveal ourselves to our friends. Perhaps God is not so different."
One man's experience: "People who don't like you at first will not like you in the end, no matter how much they like you in between."
"If I were convinced that God is an illusion, I would worship the Illusionist."
"You have a claim on life, and at some point life will offer you a settlement. Don't take it."
The preponderance of the evidence stands little chance against the preponderance of the wishing-it-weren't-so.
"The most difficult requirement of becoming knowledgable is that you must give up certainty."
"I am not yet completely ignorant, for I do not know all the answers."
"After eight years on social security, I can truthfully say that my money has been hard-earned, although not by me."
"Be careful of electing to political office anyone who claims to know what you deserve."
"There is a strong profile we turn to the mirror and a weak profile by which everyone knows us."
"Family resemblance is always in the weak profile."

All of these are exceptional. You have such a gift, and I'm glad you share it with us!
=)
Am faith in ESP continues to grow Robert. Grateful for each one including "Sometimes we forget to say goodbye to the only creature who will miss us."
Sue,
Thanks so much for your list of favorites. It's great to have the opinion of someone whose own beautiful writing sits on my bedside table.
Raj,
Thank you, friend. When you get right down to it, all perception is ESP.
smiles both,

There were so many that I liked but I couldn't be serious tonight - I was just so darn glad to have a weekend, so this one kind of made me giggle:
"The only certain mercy in life is that someday the undertaker will do your hair in such a way that you'll be glad you're dead."
I think its a given. Somewhere I'll be screeching about how my hair looks.
karen,
Thanks for liking. I guess that's why some people opt for cremation.

I liked all of them, But that one just made me laughed each time i read it...Thanks Robert..
kfp,
Thank you. Checked out your blog and find that you have expanded insightfully on a couple of topics I frequently touch on here -- getting to know yourself and dealing with the passing years. Nicely done.

These are so good Robert. I'm convinced you should be World renowned.
Ken,
Thanks, good friend, but I'd be satisfied just to get a decent table at Mack's Four Seasons Deli.

Until this sleepless night I had never heard of you. Know that a new fan is born. Serendipity, it would seem, never gets old.
Thanks so much,
Jayson
Jayson,
Thanks -- although a more remedial serendipity would have led you to a cup of cocoa.
