My Eight Best Never-Quoted Thoughts

I've written hundreds of thoughts that have never been quoted, but these eight I like especially.

"We lack resolve and blame fate, mistaking the drift for the tides."

"The most difficult requirement of becoming knowledgable is that you must give up certainty."

"You have a claim on life, and at some point life will offer you a settlement. Don't take it."

"If I were convinced that God is an illusion, I would worship the illusionist."

"It is not so much that all human beings are the same as that our differences are so similar."

"There's a limit to how much you can change to be liked for who you really are."

"No one ever became a scintillating conversationalist who had the option of just standing there, looking great."

"Whenever I go to the ocean, the tide seems to come in when I want it to go out, the sort of luck that has dogged me all my life."

Never been quoted? Surely not! Does one have to be famous for it to be counted as being quoted...if not, I will quote. If you do have to be famous, you'll have to wait a while longer for me to be counted and the quote universally acknowledged:)

All wonderful, Robert, but I find the last one hard to believe. Whenever you go to the ocean, I'm sure the drift of the tides is always on the side of your sweet nature.

I agree with Karen. They're all good, but the "claim on life one" hits me hardest.

=)

"The most difficult requirement of becoming knowledgeable is that you must give up certainty." Each one is gem Robert - am pretty certain, as are hundreds others ! Grateful

Karen, Sue, Becky,
Thanks. That one is my #1 choice, too.

Ken,
All quoters are equal in my eyes. I just google the item and see if it turns up anywhere.

nothingprofound,
Your perception of my sweet nature probes new depths of "nothing profound."

Raj,
Measured by degree of uncertainty, I am about as knowledgable as anyone can get.

Thanks all for kind comments,
rb

"We lack resolve and blame fate, mistaking the drift for the tides." most time truth hides somewhere and we misunderstand it as u said drift for tide..... fate is an easiest solution for many complicated problems. i love all the posts...

Carpe Diem - Sieze the day quotes is where I came across you...Your quote "if you could travel back in time to the present moment, what would you do differently?" Really made me think and stopped me! I went to all the rooms in my house woke up my family and kissed them and told them how much I loved them. ( not that they did'nt already know...but I just needed to even though they were not all pleased to be woke up. :) But life is very short so seize the day. Thank you for your thoughts...
I read your memorial remembrance and realized when my father called today I did not thank him when he was joking about all the yard work he was doing and that he should be on a day of rest....I will first thing tomorrow...I do not want to call this late, he will think someone has been hurt, but first thing tomorrow, I will thank him thanks to you. Thank you again. Helen Stebbins- Exeter Ca. God Bless

Anon/salu,
I guess, for most people, fate goes by the name of luck, the mysterious unseen that everyone believes in.

Anon/Helen,
Thank you. Seems I created a small disturbance in your household. My pleasure. So pleased that you identify with my words.

smiles both,
