I started posting a daily thought on Twitter this week and have realized, belatedly, that I must post them here also if they are not to disappear forever. So here they are, along with a few odds and ends.
"If God had intended me to make excuses for who I am, He would have given me better excuses."
"There is no actual law that says that a person of inner beauty cannot also maintain an appearance."
"A relationship fails when two people start to question each other in such a way that every possible answer is a lie."
"We are each multliple personalities, trying to hide the fact by always choosing the same spokesperson."
"Two things are owed to truthfulness -- lasting marriages and short friendships."
"It comes down to whether you believe in seven miraculous escapes a week or one guardian angel."
"I have no vices, but I have several virtues the devil approves of."
"The main thing that seems to be in my genes is a strong desire for self-improvement."
"You start making progress in life when you realize that you don't always have to resume where you left off."
Greeting Cards for All Occasions:
Neighbor, just a card to say,
Wish you well, this Labor Day,
Wish you joy in everything,
Wish return of following:
--- one hedge trimmer
-- one lawn rake
...
*****
Here's wishing you a Michaelmas
That's cheerful, warm and homy,
And filled, dear pal, with mem'ries of
The fifty bucks you owe me.

So glad you posted these here, Robert, because I have not mastered the art of Tweeting, and I don't see it happening any time soon, either!
Becky,
I've decided not to post anything on Twitter that I don't post here. Don't know if I'll be a tweeter for long. I haven't time for tweeting back and forth, so it depends how many folks want to follow me without being followed in return.

I like this one:
"We are each multliple personalities, trying to hide the fact by always choosing the same spokesperson."
Of course, my favorites are your greeting card verses! So clever.
=)
"It comes down to whether you believe in seven miraculous escapes a week or one guardian angel."
Since I drive a Miata, I've lived this quote several times. Seriously, I should not be alive, and yet I am, happily. I could use some better excuses for myself, though. Pity I wasn't given them.
Consider all the compliments and comments I've posted here still are in force. And unless you object quickly, I'm going to put the borrowed rake on my facebook page. donkimrey at Scripturestudent.wordpress.com
Sue, you picked one that got no response at all on Twitter. Ah, what a subtle group we are bloggers are.
karen, my neighbor Jim drives a Miata, and I make sure I'm safe in my attic whenever I see him getting behind the wheel.
Don/Anon,
That's exactly what I fear -- that something I post here will be quoted somewhere else. But go ahead, I'll just have to live with it.

....."I have no vices, but I have several virtues the devil approves of."
.....she reads Robert's quote while looking over her shoulder...is he in the closet? How would he know?..... :)
"I have no vices..." - Great way to put it
"There is no actual..." - Amazing use of words..Hits you sometime after you read it..
..Loved it..
Oh, you are on twitter! I will follow you! :)
ByNanasHands.
I myself am not in the closet, but I have this other persona, Lamont Cranston.
Parag,
Yes, some of my items have a delayed action fuse.
Aileen,
So good to have you pop in again. In my book you are the photographer non pareil when it comes to capturing inner beauty.

I noticed, Bob, that you wrote to Aileen: "So good to have you pop in again. In my book you are the photographer non pareil when it comes to capturing inner beauty. (I can see all kinds of possibilities: A beautiful member of the French paparazzi becomes emotionally entangled with the hansome but mysterious, sophisticated Lamont Cranston in a blazing romance that blazes across two continents and the big Pond.
Robert, I'm so very pleased to hear of this book. Is Lamont Cranston the protagonist in your new venture? I've been saying all along: Your stuff be on the N.Y. Times bestseller list! Any title, plot, date of publication?
Nice post! Wonderful!
Thanks, Robert!
Anon,
Okay, I get it. The phrase "In my book...' had better not be tossed around if you have no intention of writing a book. Henceforth, it will be IMHO. I do like the plot, only I'd have the two ending up in a cafe in Casablanca.
*^_^*,
Thanks, friend. Catchy moniker.

. . . . .
Thank you for the kind words, Robert! That means a lot to me. :)
I always come here even when I rarely leave comments. As I said (over at twitter), you are an inspiration! :)
Hi Robert
Love the vices quote if I'm to single any out from another batch of quality quotes. I never had you down as a twitterer :)
Aileen, Ken,
Here's a confession. Both of you were among the artists I visited in the early days of this blog in the hope that you would visit me in return. I struck gold in both instances. Thank you.

I'm young, 22, but I guess I have the mentality of a resistant old man when it comes to certain technologies. Basically, I hate Twitter. I recommend you do too! I'm only recently finding blogs acceptable (ever since I discovered it has more uses than teens discussing their uninteresting lives -- facebook fills that role these days [which, by the way, I dislike too.].)
Anon,
Welcome. Have no fear, I have no intention of twittering. I'm quoted all day long on Twitter, and I decided to set up a page so that folks searching my name will find me. That's all.

Love "We are each multliple personalities, trying to hide the fact by always choosing the same spokesperson."
I do feel though, a problem seems to arise when that spokesperson appears to have gone out for a smoke-break.
The greeting cards are awesome, btw. :)
Biddy,
At such times I tell people that all lines are busy and start humming a little tune.

Sorry, I have to respond to your response, since it had me caught up in giggles again... You are truly a delight, and quick on your feet with the wit. Thank you for making me laugh once again and for sharing such amazing talent of the pen with the world. You inspire where you least expect. Take care of you :)
