Seriously -- some days are the perfect disasters! Made me smile to think of it that way. You are amazing.

I really dropped by to wish you a happy birthday for yesterday and hope it wasn't a perfect disaster :)

I also love the civilisation quote although I would welcome being discovered by something or someone more civilised.

All good, as always. But I was especially drawn to these two.

My favorite is the one about sitting back and just admiring the heck out of a disastrous day!

Hmmm, yes... I've had me a few of those.

PS: Happy Birthday yesterday! See? I got my calendar(s)!

Jan, Becky, karen,
Occasionally, when I get heavy, I toss in a laugher for good measure, and sure enough, it's the one everybody likes the best. And here I thought you came here to get edified.

As long as the gears are churning, you might try cracking a few walnuts.

ken,
Okay, consider yourself discovered.

Sue,
Sure would like to know what the other one was.

~ahhhh! touché
And love "The lesson of history is that nothing worse can happen to a civilization than to be discovered by a more civilized one."
I do find myself randomly pulling things like this out in a conversation. Thanks so much. I do enjoy all of them.

Your quotes, Robert, are like the perfect snack...just the right amount of words that keep me thinking long afterward.

ps. {Happy Birthday!}

Have a wonderful weekend, Maria

Having one of those right now.
It's pretty awesome.

Biddy Stitch,
Sound like you have interesting conversations. Next time you see a fly on the wall, it'll be me.

Maria,
Actually, I did intend this as more of a feast than a snack, but that's what I get for including the Twinkies.

Anon,
Yes, easier said than done. A cup of tea (or a glass of red) helps.

I am not a prophet. But in this case I'm making an exception. Someday, some editor/publisher/agent is going to have his/her proctologist discover his/her head. When that happens he/or she is doing to recognize the worth of your work and give it the attention and circulation it merits.
Till such time, I'm considering myself one of the "insiders," and looking forward to a time when some industry dummies get outflanked and understand what a treasure they overlooked. Trust me, when it happens
(and it will) I won't even try to resist saying: "I TOLD YOU SO!" don
