A Twitter Treasure Trove

Since August I have been tweeting one or two thoughts a day on Twitter -- some new, some old, some revised.  Here is a collection of recent tweets.

"As a friend, you first give your understanding, then you try to understand."

"What to do with your one life?  The same thing you would do if you had two lives, and this were the second."

"The trouble with spending your time seeking wealth is that you never get wealthy enough to buy back the time."

"You know you're a family when blaming each other doesn't make any of you feel less guilty."

"There is in every truth a wise saying, and in every contradiction, two wise sayings."

"The trouble with selfish motives is that they begin to look like principles, and you end up sending your kids to die for them."

"Often what we take for a kindness is just someone acting in his or her capacity as a human being."

"Though we have the children of our destiny, destiny knows exactly the ones we would have picked out of our own free will."

"If the human race ever becomes completely civilized,  it will be the story of how a species called man became woman."

"Meanwhile, the IRS is after me because I listed Citigroup, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs as dependents."

"It's odd the way that people who don't feel honor-bound to do anything else feel honor-bound to get even."

"The most fundamental winning formula is to bet on human decency and be patient."

WOW! Can you say, POWERFUL?? It's impossible to choose just one as a favorite. Thanks for my Sunday morning spiritual reading! :)

These are all amazing Robert! I can identify with a couple of these today - don't know if that is good or bad, but at least they don't all hit close to home :) Thanks for sharing your wit today!

All are profound! I especially liked the What to do with your one life.

I've been talking you up to my friends
and said you are like a modern day Ben Franklin.
No pressure.

Love reading about faith in human decency (even though there might be a wait!) -- I have that same faith. People are fundamentally good and decent. Perfect Sunday thought! (you are awesome!)

Thank you!

"Meanwhile, the IRS is after me because I listed Citigroup, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs as dependents." Lol!
Opps, my bad. Should have told you I already listed them too.
Thanks for a case of the giggles. Always good way to end a day ;)

My thanks to all for commenting.

BECKY,
If you get your spiritual reading here, you are going to be in deep trouble with the Lord.

Becky D.
Actually, most of my thoughts don't hit close to home with me, either. For example, Joan and I have never argued.

Eva,
It's my favorite, also. Another way to put it, "You should live your one life as if you had a hundred lives and this were the last."

The Prude,
Thanks for the comparison, but to be a modern-day Ben Franklin I'd have to lose a few pounds.

Jan,
Yes, believing in human decency does take faith as well as patience. A very Happy Anniversary to you and Mark. Love the photo and caption on your blog.

Biddy,
Perhaps you've run across my definition of the IRS -- an agency modeled on the revenue-raising concepts of the 19th century economist, Jesse James."

I like this, and I sincerely keep hoping it's true.

Grateful Robert,” ..as a friend, you first give your understanding”.. , as “"There is in every truth a wise saying” after-all “someone acting in his or her capacity as a human being." Delicious & sumptuous!

These have made this grim, cold and wintry day a little warmer and have set me up with a smile.

Sue,
As the saying goes, "It may not always happen, but it's the way to bet."

Raj,
Thanks. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Ken,
Hey, they don't call me "Mr. Warmth" for nothing.

smiles all,

"Be thoughtful of others and you will not be shy, for they are incompatible addictions." I read that on an inspirational quotations page and have spent the last hour reading farther and farther back through the treasure trove that is this website. Thank you for what you do. Thank you for the inspiration. Thank you for providing the provocative wisdom that set mind straight and my soul at ease.

Will Continue Reading, Thinking and Enjoying,
Danny
