My Week on Twitter -- January 23

This week's most favored tweet

"Eventually you realize that the reason God didn't always answer your prayers is that He was answering your mom's prayers."

The runners-up

"May it be said of you that you relished the dance of life, and at its end, went out applauding the band."

"If you can wear the hard times of your life as furrows on your brow, you can wear the good times as a twinkle in your eye."

Best of the rest

"Eventually soulmates meet, for they have the same hiding place."

"It's hard to exchange thoughts with someone who just wants to show you their brain tattoos."

"All any child needs is the protection of loving parents and an alternative source of information."

"We gain no easier advantage than by relentlessly pursuing our goal while others pursue an advantage."

"Rather than awaken to an array of choices, I would rather awaken to a clear duty born of the choice I have made."

"There are more martyrs to nonsense than truth, truth preferring missionaries."

"I don't understand what it is to crave recognition. I like recognition. I crave chocolate."

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, not forgetting to leave others be as you would have them leave you be."

"We can reshape our past to account for who we are, or we can explore our past to discover who we are."

"'Every day I go into the world to seek my identity, feeling greatly blessed by the things I don't find it in."

I always hate going along with the crowd - -but this time, I'm loving the popular quote. Probably because not only it is MY mom who is still praying, but now I too am the mom who is still praying.

I guess some things never change, right?

Thanks for a great start to my day!

As always, my day is a bit brighter by virtue of your thoughts. Thank you :)

Just the way you look at things makes everything so much more tolerable. Absolutely love the first three too! Thank you for giving us these wonderful thoughts and smiles.

All,
Thanks so much for kind words -- and thanks especially for sticking around through this long period of indecision on my part. You are good friends.

smiles,

My favorite:

"If you can wear the hard times of your life as furrows on your brow, you can wear the good times as a twinkle in your eye."

And my soulmate and I do have the same hiding place: right next to each other. It's been a good place to be for the last 12 years.

The saddest thing about all of your quotes, Robert, is that I'm unable to commit them to memory.

Becky, karen, Ken, thanks.

I want to choose a favorite but can't. As a mom I appreciate the first one, but that brain tattoo one is genius. And the last one makes me laugh.

Such truths expressed in fanciful ways. Love lots.

Love it! And I hope this is so very true in my children's lives.

Robert,

It’s great to find you posting more frequently again. You are always my first choice and best source for just the right (and most clever!) quote to express what I would like to write or say if only I had your talent and insight. Thanks and please keep sharing your thoughts.
