My Week on Twitter -- January 30

This week's most favored tweet:

"I do not dispute that God speaks to you, but I am dubious that He speaks to you for the purpose of relaying instructions to  me."

The runners-up:

"If God had intended me to make excuses for who I am, He would have given me better excuses."

"Having perfected our disguise, we spend our lives searching for someone we don't fool."

Best of the rest:

"It is more difficult to rescue a family than a business, because you must include in the solution everyone who is part of the problem."

"In the end you are more apt to be the person you pretend to be than the person you think is doing the pretending."

And one that I continue to like anyway:

"There is no sense of well-being like having perfect kids, an understanding spouse and a seriously-flawed best friend."

My Week on Twitter -- January 23

This week's most favored tweet

"Eventually you realize that the reason God didn't always answer your prayers is that He was answering your mom's prayers."

The runners-up

"May it be said of you that you relished the dance of life, and at its end, went out applauding the band."

"If you can wear the hard times of your life as furrows on your brow, you can wear the good times as a twinkle in your eye."

Best of the rest

"Eventually soulmates meet, for they have the same hiding place."

"It's hard to exchange thoughts with someone who just wants to show you their brain tattoos."

"All any child needs is the protection of loving parents and an alternative source of information."

"We gain no easier advantage than by relentlessly pursuing our goal while others pursue an advantage."

"Rather than awaken to an array of choices, I would rather awaken to a clear duty born of the choice I have made."

"There are more martyrs to nonsense than truth, truth preferring missionaries."

"I don't understand what it is to crave recognition. I like recognition. I crave chocolate."

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, not forgetting to leave others be as you would have them leave you be."

"We can reshape our past to account for who we are, or we can explore our past to discover who we are."

"'Every day I go into the world to seek my identity, feeling greatly blessed by the things I don't find it in."

A Message

Just to tell you that I have resumed tweeting a thought or two a day on Twitter and will use this blog to archive the thoughts on a once-a-week basis, probably every Monday.  I will archive only thoughts that are well-received on Twitter (those that are retweeted and favorited), so Twitter will serve the useful role of an editor, something I badly need.

A Happy New Year to all,
