Think Of The Thing You Have...

"Sometimes love is just a comfort in each other's presence that shows up as long silences on the interstate."
"There are worse things you can be than the person someone thought they married."

Hello, Robert!
Thank you for your wonderful thoughts. You're such a cheerful part of my online life.
Today, your quotes brightened me up so much I made a little collage with one of your amazing quotes and put it up on my blog. Here it is:

Hope you don't mind the liberty I took in using your quote.
Kudos to you,
Cheers!
Vishnu, thanks so much. Your collage is delightful. (Anyone out there who can use a little lift today might just click on Vishnu, above, and check out her site: "My Pen and Grey Matter.")
Thank you so much, rb, for leaving your footprint on my blog. I'm thrilled beyond words!
As always, lovely. Can't even pick a favorite this time -- love them all!
Jan, thanks so much for being so faithful and supportive.
I don't know what's happened to all the other folks who used to comment here. I guess I chased them all away by shutting off comments for so long. Thought I was doing my readers a favor. When I reread the lively conversations that used to exist in this section, it makes me sad. But everything in its time, as they say.
smiles,
rb
I will attempt to ease your sadness as I am a "long time reader, first time comment-er"! I read your posts regularly. I often have favorites and others I tend to shrug off (they are my shoulders you know). The ones I shrug off I often find that I appreciate later. I think the thoughts are just a little too deep for my shallow mind initially. This set, however, were power packed and I loved them all. Keep up the great work!
Todd, so that was you not commenting all this time. Wondered who it was. And I often think thoughts too deep for my shallow mind, but I post them anyway. rb
Great aphorisms! How do you do it, Robert? Does practice make them come easier? Thanks for your blog.
Ann, thanks -- and welcome. You'd think that 52 years of practice would make them come easy, but, in fact, I'm still practicing.
smiles,
rb
Robert - I don't think your mind is shallow. Maybe it just feels that way because you get up before the chickens. What you may need is an early morning mind stretcher. Here's something that's been puzzling me; perhaps you can help figure it out: If humans woke up one day and found that their knees bent the other direction, what would they do with all their chairs?
Buddy, obviously you're not my age. My knees already bend the other way. The main problem is getting out of bed. My greater fear, shared with most of the regulars at the pub, is that my elbows will bend the other way.
smiles,
rb
I reread your quotes everyday, and always find several to connect with that day....thank you for your thoughts!
